HYDROSPROUTS- Sprout Kit / Plant Box
Client / Context
Hydrosprouts is a zero-waste packaging concept I created that evolved into a full product design exploring sustainability in everyday consumer goods. The goal was to design packaging that not only protects the product but also lives on as something positive after use.
Key Challenge
The main challenge was designing packaging that was fully biodegradable while still functional and visually engaging on the shelves. I also needed to solve how to package, drain, and present sprouts in a way that felt purposeful and eco-forward, not just disposable.
Solution
I developed a slide-out box with a biodegradable cheesecloth tab that functions as a draining aid, paired with a plantable seed packet. Both packaging components are designed to fully decompose within 2–3 weeks, leaving behind blooming, edible pansies once planted. This turned the package from waste into a growing experience that reconnects the user with nature.

Result
The Hydrosprouts design successfully transforms packaging into something regenerative and meaningful. Rather than ending up in landfill, each part contributes to growth, reinforcing a cycle of sustainability and delight. The project demonstrates my ability to design with ecology and lifecycle in mind, pushing beyond conventional packaging into purposeful design.
